Wood (timber)

Wood is characterised by uneven texture, varied structure, colour contrasts, discolourations and knots. These morphological qualities of wood, typical of natural materials, result from varied conditions in which the tree grew, they make wood different from artificial materials and, as such, can not be considered as faults. On the contrary, they determine the high quality of the product. Wood is a material which reacts specifically to moisture present in the air. It is often said that wood works. Securing the wooden surface can delay this process but it cannot be entirely stopped. Therefore, you should try to make sure the humidity is at levels between 40 and 70 per cent.
